Kadoma City in eastern Osaka prefecture, Japan, is a small, provincial city of 100,000. Despite its size, Tiger corporation, the world-famous electronics maker, has its headquarters there. The area is a large industrial zone in Japan, the founder of home electronics, and includes the nearby Moriguchi City and Daito City. These two cities have collected many small to medium sized factories with extremely high technological capabilities. Internationally, perhaps not many people know of Osaka or Kadoma, but Tiger and Sharp are famous and known all over the world. Kadoma City is the center of an administrative district which includes Daito City and Moriguchi City, through regional integration. The Kadamo region is a regional community brand, distinct from this administrative district. This region is built on personal connections and individual, voluntary participation of those who agree with Re-conscious's ideas and style regarding societal problems; for example, environmental issues, nuclear power, earthquake recovery, and population ageing. The goal is to establish an area identity which goes beyond administrative divisions, using the theme of electronics along with the understanding that these are not discrete problems, but are actually comprehensive issues that encompass people, the earth, and society. The Kadamo region's arts and crafts activities, the Kadamo Doctrine, are communicated to the international community as a strategic model for Japan, which has attracted attention as an advanced country facing a historically new problem known as population aging.
