This one is at the Freer Gallery inWashington,D.C.
It's more than a hundred years old and can still see the fingermarks where the potter pinched it.But as you can also see, this one did break at some point in its hundred years. But the person who put it back together, instead of hiding the cracks, decided to emphasize them, using gold lacquer to repair it.This bowl is more beautiful now ,having been broken, than it was when it was first made, and we can look at those cracks, because they tell the story that we all live,of the cycle of creation and destruction,of control and letting go, of picking up the pieces.and making something new.

Exhibition information
The Re-conscious program is comprised of arts and crafts from Home Electronics Cafe and MoHE. Using the ideas of art brut and commodities, we are expanding training and practical production in order to make it possible for the disabled and elderly to work long-term. To be precise, we do not only show modern art galleries, but we also suggest display objects, digital signage, and POP tools. We are aiming to collaborate within Home Electronics Cafe' business domain, but we also include business activities which have, for clients, normal businesses with a high CSR or social responsibility. While doing so, we also conduct training and practical production. By throwing away excessive technical skill and artisticness, and planning to expand the market so that it is cost-effective and anyone can participate, we are working hard to create a business that can continue for a long time.
Fulfilling, worth of living and a social contribution.
Pleasure to become a person who needed by someone.
Elderly people are enormous resources.
We have been arguing the issue of aging society with fewer children as one of the many concerns of Japanese society.
We are facing the "Super aging society" that is far worse than before.
Now, the population of the Japanese elderly people (65 years or older) is reaching 27,000,000, and four person will be needed to support one older person.
Japan is the land of aging society in the world as it's predicted that one third of population will become 65 years or older in 25 years later.
It's difficult to maintain the "Super aging society" unless we let such generations change from being a consumer of pension and social insurance to supporter of our society.
Extensive knowledge, skills and strong personal connections they have are really valuable.
Most of elderly people can stay on their job and keep their life well with a little assistance.
